Giving food and money to your local Food Bank is such a mutually rewarding way to celebrate the holidays. The receiver happily eats healthy food and you get a warm fulfilling feeling inside for doing something good. US Census data shows that 10% of Americans (30 million people) go to bed hungry, not because they’re on some type of fad diet. They simply don’t have the money to buy enough food to feed themselves and their families.
In 2023, Congress ended the extra emergency SNAP (Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program) benefits recipients received during the height of the Pandemic. Families have to make the tough choice of paying rent and utilities or buying food.
I cook food and take it directly to the most vulnerable – homeless people. Also, I’m donating 10% of sales of lovely artwork created by my daughter Eden and placed on Aria Elan merchandise available on https://ariaelan.com to Nuclear Age Peace Foundation and Caterina’s Club, a great non profit organization founded by Chef Bruno, that cooks hot pasta dishes and feeds kids living with their families in motels, everyday, not just holidays. Life can change instantly through natural disasters like hurricanes, floods, fires, etc. and you may need help one day. I admire the consistent work Nuclear Age Peace Foundation is doing “waging peace.” War is one of the leading causes of food insecurity.. Let’s share our blessings while we still can.
Peace and One Love…
