See no evil hear no evil

The morning news led with all too familiar footage: another oil spill; this time off  Santa Barbara’s coast.  Then they switched to a scene from Gulf of Mexico with all of these dead dolphins who marine biologists said died from oil ingested in the Louisiana BP spill. Dang!  Oil spills in our oceans, lethal levels of CO2 in the atmosphere, melting of arctic ice, sometimes it can seem overwhelming. The temptation is to do like that character on “Planet of the Apes,” close your eyes and cover your ears with both hands. See no evil; hear no evil. I wish that would work in the real world, but unfortunately our addiction to fossil fuels and the resulting climate change is getting worse, not better. We must demand that governments dedicate the necessary capital, tax incentives and resources to develop clean, renewable energy sources like solar and wind.

One of the lines in my new song “Free Mama Earth” is: “It’s a shame; we’re to blame for climate change.” NASA confirms humans have increased carbon dioxide levels (CO2) and we’re causing climate change by burning fossil fuels (oil, gas, coal) deforestation & other activities. “Free Mama Earth” is more than a song; it’s a call to action.

We are still on schedule to have “Free Mama Earth” mixed by the end of this month. 100% of download and streaming sales from “Free Mama Earth” will be donated to Environmental Defense Fund and Nuclear Age Peace Foundation to help save our environment.

One Love,

Aria
