“While I’m thankful for your music here on numberonemusic I want to pay for the album on itunes you deserve my money.” Alison M. I teared up when I read Alison’s message because she understands that recording artists who create music that you love “deserve” to earn a decent living from their art. Deserve is defined as “doing something or having and showing qualities worthy of reward”.
I get a lot of mail from fans telling me how much they dig my songs, but this is the first time someone expressed what I felt. I know it’s tempting to get something for free, but like my dear deceased mother used to say: “Sugar, nothin’ in life is free. You pay one way or the other.” The price for getting “free” music is forcing indie artists out of the music industry and listening to the same
songs that sound alike from major record companies over and over and over again.
One Love…
