Yesterday, I shared my “Free Mama Earth” mantra on the red carpet at The Atomic Age Film Festival. “No nukes, no kooks; I don’t want no “oops!” “The man who saved the Earth” deservedly won grand prize for best film. It was the most powerful film I ever saw.
Soviet Union Lt. Colonel Stanislav Petrov, who was in command of nuke response unit in 1983, had a few minutes to make a decision that could have destroyed the world. Their computers showed 5 nuke missiles fired from USA at Soviet Union. President Reagan had previously referred to Soviets as: “The Evil Empire” and proclaimed: “I would rather all of my grandchildren die than live in a Soviet world with no God.” The “Cold War” was in full effect mode. Those 1983 nuclear weapons would have made Hiroshima atomic bomb seem like a water pistol. Lt. Colonel Petrov refused to give the order to fire retaliatory nukes at USA and it turned out to be a computer glitch. USA had not fired any nukes. ONE OF THOSE NUKES WOULD HAVE KILLED 200 MILLION PEOPLE, turning Mama Earth into an uninhabitable desert.
That is why I am passionate about stopping nuclear warfare and saving our environment for our children and future generations. “Free Mama Earth! She gave you birth and what you do to Earth you do to you…”
One Love,
Aria
