We are in the 4th quarter of our “Free Mama Earth” charitable campaign to help save the environment for our children and future generations. This morning as I reviewed the contributions ($1,650 raised of our $5,000 goal), it occurred to me “Free Mama Earth” is a metaphor for humanity’s lackluster response to climate change & nuclear proliferation, the greatest threats to human survival in history. Indeed, 97% of scientists who have studied the matter agree that human caused climate change will result in “severe, pervasive & irreversible impact for people, species and 27 ecosystems.” (2014 United Nations science report) In plain English, unless we act now, within our children’s lifetime, Earth will be changed into a planet with extinct (all dead) animals and plants, increased & stronger hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, tsunamis, drought, fires, i.e., hell. You do not have to be a scientist to understand the destructiveness of nuclear warfare. “Free Mama Earth” is not just another crowd funding campaign. It is a call to action to save ourselves while there’s still time. Because it’s the 4th quarter, and before you know it, time’s up.
