This morning my daughter & her friend swept me & friend’s mother in beach volleyball utilizing superior speed and timing. However, their athleticism was no match for our experience when it came to distance running. We knew how to pace ourselves so we would have enough juice left to finish strong. Do not give up when you are losing and others are winning. You are gaining valuable experience so that when the time is right, you will be ready to achieve your dreams and desires.
My late father was a Baptist minister for 54 years and often quoted Ecclesiastics 9:11. I didn’t understand when I was a child; just memorized scripture like a parrot. But now I get it.
“I have observed something else under the sun. The fastest runner doesn’t always win the race, and the strongest warrior doesn’t always win the battle. The wise sometimes go hungry, and the skillful are not necessarily wealthy. And those who are educated don’t always lead successful lives. It is all decided by chance, by being in the right place at the right time.” Ecclesiastics 9:11
