The holidays are here again and many people are stressing, worrying about how they’re going to put the money together for feasting and gifts. This morning I received a message from a fan saying how rough this year has been, but a church gave her a turkey and other food so she can cook Thanksgiving dinner for her kids. Then she thanked me for making my song “Smile”; told me how much she loves “Smile,” and encouraged me to keep on singing and making uplifting music. I teared up with joy and realized that no gift could mean more than the gift of love. I shared this message with my daughter on the way to school and she said: “That’s cool mom, but you’re still getting me that iphone 6 for Christmas right?” LOL
I am truly humbled and thankful for the outpouring of One Love from my fans all over the world. So, I decided to copy some of their notes onto my website. Whenever I feel like singing Little Orphan Annie “It’s a hard knocks life for us. Instead of treated we get tricked; instead of treated we get kicked…” I can read these words of encouragement from REAL people and tell myself to snap out of it. Then I sing my theme song: “I SMILE, no one can steal my joy. SMILE, like a kid with a new toy. I don’t wanna cry; SMILE, it’s a natural high…” 🙂
