Earth Day

Surrounded by beautiful flowers and nature in my garden, serene thoughts calm me, but sometimes I can not help thinking about wars, suffering, folks abusing Mama Earth and nuclear winter an all too real possibility. As we approach Earth Day (April 22, 2017) I am reminded of its original mission – peace and protection of the environment. The Environmental Protection Agency was created in December 1970, seven months after the first Earth Day Celebration in USA. I wrote the dystopian poem “2023” in 2007 wishing, hoping and praying it’s not our future.

2023

Where is humanity?

No more supremacy

Mobocracy or anarchy

2023

Where is history?

Hiding like mystery

Nothing to see

2023

Nuclear wars annihilation

No more nations

Just pathetic survivors

Cars, but no drivers.
